Junior Great Books

Junior Great Books
**open to 2nd through 5th grades ** deadline to register is January 13th**

The adventure is beginning!  Junior Great Books® is a program that encourages students to read, think critically about what they have read, and participate in a facilitated discussion of the material. More than one million students across the country participate in Junior Great Books, and Haddonfield students also have the opportunity to participate in this nationally-acclaimed reading and discussion program. By participating in Shared Inquiry discussion, Junior Great Books students learn to read for meaning and support their own interpretation of the text.

Junior Great Books will meet at lunch/recess time on Fridays for 5 weeks, beginning on January 27th and ending on February 24th.  Each week students will read a short story and meet with a parent volunteer to discuss it (and have fun doing so!).  The cost of the program is $19

We need PARENT VOLUNTEERS to lead/co-lead Junior Great Books groups at all grade levels.  As a volunteer, you will have a small group of students. No teaching experience necessary. Just a love of working with students and the ability to attend the Friday sessions!
